THE PLAY

There are 80+ games here at 3Dice, classic slots, video slots, video poker and table games. The video slots all have their own very unique bonus rounds which is an engaging attribute to begin with, but quickly loses it’s novelty as do the extraneous graphics that permeate the games. The classic slots are more enjoyable and are almost all based upon the ever-popular Wheel of Fortune theme, however even this is short-lived as the bankroll dwindles. One is almost entirely dependent upon hitting the largest of payoffs to stay solvent when playing slots here. There just isn’t enough payout in the middle ranges. Video slots are available in a multitude of varieties. I found the multi-hand versions somewhat confused regarding the hand layout, which made following my successful hits less than enjoyable. Keno payouts follow the more steady type payout schedule with some money paid for the majority of number pays chosen, but even here, the layout is not the traditional 10 across, 8 down style as is the norm virtually everywhere (vegas style), 3Dice chose to go with 8 across and 10 down for their number layout- it’s anyone’s guess as to why. Blackjack, roulette, sic-bo, and craps, as well as a few other table games (paigow, red-dog, war, etc) round things out and are unremarkable except for the fact they are available- as is the case with most casino software.
Betting limits are fine for the low limit player, but the true high roller will be a bit disappointed with the upper limitations, which are quite low compared to other gaming suites. (try $15 max per spin or even less on all but one slot, and it only reaches $20). This limitation can be elevated with higher VIP status and without a doubt, higher limits may be accomodated with a healthy deposit and subsequent plea to support.
Tournaments are always available, and vary as to the game(s) and buy-in, but all have another one-of-a-kind feature exclusive to 3Dice: winners are determined by highest peak balance over a set time period. This seems to remove a bit of strategy from tournament play as it’s an all-out scramble for the most, regardless of how many you have left when time expires.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

While at first I found 3Dice to be entertaining, That quickly faded and I am left annoyed by the casino interface, lack of familiar navigation tools and excessive graphics that only slow the eventual depletion of my bankroll. The designers at 3Dice seem to be so preoccupied with keeping it different from the “norm” that they’ve lost sight of why the norm is the way it is…… it works. I am sure there are many who would disagree with me and the abundance of Meister awards would suggest that’s the case, but I just don’t see 3Dice as much more than a distraction from what I enjoy doing most- playing and winning.
